How to Make Triple Layer Pearl Necklace

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, we are spending more and more time at home. We started to have more space and time to be alone, and some hobbies that had been put on hold by work were picked up again. Some people started working out, some people started tidying up their gardens, some people started all kinds of DIY... As a handmade jewelry enthusiast, the process of making jewelry not only relaxes and heals me but also supports my livelihood.

Today I am going to share how to make a simple but gorgeous multi-layer pearl necklace for you who are interested in handmade jewelry either. Follow the steps below to make your own pearl necklace.

The first is the choice of materials and accessories. I use natural freshwater pearls to complete this beautiful pearl necklace. Compared to plastic pearls, they are more textured and last longer. I love cute little things, so I choose a delicate bow box clasp. Its biggest advantage is that it is very easy to wear, even if one person can operate it. The line for fixing the pearls is a sturdy and durable fishing line. It can also be better for hiding itself.

Material:

1 3mm freshwater pearl strand

1 4mm freshwater pearl strand

1 6mm freshwater pearl strand

1 necklace clasp

1 0.25mm non-stretch fishing line

1 perforated bead

Step 1:

Determine the length of the necklace. A lazy little trick is to measure the length of the necklace you are wearing. You can also choose an adjustable clasp to ensure the final necklace is not too short or too long.

Step 2:

Wrap the fishing line twice around the clasp, keeping the same length on both sides.

Step 3:

Thread two 3mm pearls side by side on one fishing line and one 6mm pearl on the other. Cross both fishing lines through the 4mm pearl at the same time and pull the fishing line tight.

Step 4:

Repeat step 3 until the necklace reached the length you measured in step 1.

Step 5:

Thread both lines through the bead at the same time, looping twice around the clasp and threading the bead again. Tie a small knot and finally trim off the excess line. Then you're done.
